If you are waiting for the big Adult Red Drum to show up in the rivers and sound, your wait is over. The numbers are not great but will get more numerous with each tide. The big Adults will be close to the dock for at least another month. I am ready, let’s go get’em!
Tarpon are Persnickety
I don’t know if it is the rain, big tides of late or just the karma, but the Tarpon bite has not been very consistent in our area. The Tarpon show up for a few days then are gone. No worries though with the cooler water on the way the Tarpon will soon be herding up in the sound taking advantage of the offshore Mullet run. The good news is the slot or just out of the slot Redfish are still willing to chew. Seems we catch Redfish that are too short or picture taking whoppers up to 30″. We tried one river spot for the Jumbo’s for a few minutes a day ago with no luck. I think as soon as the big tides slow down this week the run of Adult Red Drum will begin with earnest, and I plan on being in the middle of them.
